Charlemont Transfer Station Sets New Hours Starting Sept. 23

Charlemont's transfer station will move to a new operating schedule starting Sept. 23, one of several administrative updates the town posted this week alongside word that state regulators have signed off on bylaws residents approved at May's town meeting.

TOWN HALL

The transfer station will operate from noon to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays beginning Tuesday, Sept. 23, according to a notice posted on the town's website.

The Massachusetts attorney general's office has approved the bylaws adopted at May's annual town meeting, the town announced in a posting Sept. 8, clearing the way for those bylaws to take effect. The Board of Assessors also announced Sept. 15 that it is conducting annual property inspections around town.

The Select Board released minutes Sept. 17 from its Aug. 17 meeting, and both the Agricultural Commission and the Planning Board posted agendas this week for meetings scheduled Sept. 21.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

Tyler Memorial Library will host a "Tech Community Conversation: Digital Privacy & Surveillance" on Thursday, Oct. 1, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the library, an event organized through the town's Broadband Committee. The library will also hold Tech Support Drop-In Hours on Thursday, Oct. 8, from 3:30 to 6 p.m.

COMING UP

The Charlemont Agricultural Commission and the Planning Board each meet Monday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m. at Town Hall. Tyler Memorial Library's Board of Trustees meets Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 11 a.m. at the library. The Select Board holds a 5:30 p.m. meeting Monday, Sept. 28, that includes an alcohol permit hearing set for 6 p.m.
